How do you emphasize words when typing?

I always put these dashes to emphasize because capitalizing makes it look like I am a child on a pc.

He is THE best player of all time! See?

I prefer to type it out like this: He is -the- best player of all time.

What is the best way to emphasize words?

  2. You could have it italicized, or bold either. But italicized words work better for emphasizing.

  3. you could underline them, use bold text , use italic font or make them longer, like...

    ' im soooooo happy',

but the last one is sooooo childish tooooooooo [oh sorry (",) ]

  4. depends on the word processor you're using.

Make it bold, put in Italics, underline, change colour of font, change font size, change font altogether, 'put in quotation marks', highlight text.

  5. Try using bold-face (ctrl + b) or underlining.

  6. You could use bold, italicize or underline but when you're typing in something like "Yahoo Answer" these don't work.  (Why not!?)

    - You could place emphasis on words by using *special characters* such as quotations (but then it looks like a quote), parentheses to "capture" the words.  Or just make a word stand out on its own.

    Got it?
