I mean I don't feel like we're far enough along in the relationship to say sleep tight, so I ended it saying "goodbye" sort of timidly. He mumbled goodbye and it sounded sort of curt. We're meeting in a couple of days for our first date. The date was set up just before we ended the conversation. Why do you think he sounded curt when he said goodbye?

  1. maybe he wasn't curt but because you're a bit insecure(the way we all are when we like somebody and want them to like us) you just read more(or "heard" more) into what he said and his tone of voice. Wait till your date and then you'll see. meanwhile, relax! watch some tennis for some real nerve-racking moments!!! try French Open right now.

  2. Why is this in Tennis?

  3. Just end your conversation like a normal friend like say OK ill talk to you soon or later.Or think on how you would say it on an msn conversation..for eg. Ttyl ( talk to yeah later ) but don't say it in I'm say it in words

                                                    Hope it helps Good luck!!

  4. "Goodbye" sounds a bit cold and formal, I guess. It could also be interpreted as something you say when you don't plan on seeing the person again. Simply saying "bye" or "talk to you soon" would work.
