How do you entertain a kid in a restaurant?

ok so we eat out a lot and my 3 and 8 year old siblings are always bored

what are some fun things to do while we wait for the food?

any suggestions for things to do ALREADY in the restaurant?

Guess who I am/ 20 questions

I-spy

riddles and jokes

coloring (bring paper and crayons if the restaurant doesn't provide them)

hangman; tic-tac-toe; making mazes;

take turns thinking of as many words as possible that start with "S" or rhyme with "cat" or are types of flowers or whatever;

make up stories (each person says a sentence or a paragraph and then the next person makes up the next part);

memory games (I'm going on vacation and bringing a car; I'm going on vacation and bringing a car and a flowerpot; I'm going on vacation and bringing a car, a flowerpot, and a box of spaghetti....); put a bunch of things on one spot of the table (like salt shaker, napkin, fork, menu, etc.) then take one away while the kid isn't looking and see if they can remember what's missing.....

well when i was little i always remember playing i spy

i spy with my little eye something red.... and so on

you can bring crayons and color

you can tell stories (along interesting things your kids like)

you can have staring contest (with your 8 year old)

you can make funny faces and so in
