Ah yes, the evening blues. I get these all the time. I don't really know why the evening is worse. I mean, I often sit here in my apartment and I watch the people walking by from my window and a lot of them are with other people and they all seem to be going somewhere and doing something. I'm not sure that they are..but I imagine that they are. Who knows..

You're right, drinking doesn't help. It actually makes things worse and it can become very self destructive.

I'm not sure that one can actually "escape" the evening blues but as you work through the emotional stuff , there are times where things won't be so bad. Some days, you'll feel the weight of loneliness and other days will be more tolerable. Well, at least it is for me.

Trust me, I can relate.

I often sit here on some evenings, not able to, as you put it, "escape" the evening blues.

This may sound strange, but I take great comfort in the little things. It's sometimes the little things that make up great and inspiring experiences in life. For intance, I actually take great comfort in the fact that the neighbour's cat comes by my window every night. He's this great orange and white cat and he comes by my window every night and he meows once or twice and then he leaves. It really makes my night sometimes. I know, I know , it's sounds a little pathetic but it really isn't. It's important to pay attention to the little things. And when we pay attention to the little things, it brings us closer to others in a way. Those are the first steps to opening up doors.
