use his other sences like taste or smell to explain them; tell him/her what you associate with that colour and give him more examples (for instance an orange or a peach; or the coulour of the sky and of the sea-taste of salted water or feeling of breeze)-relate to what he/she does understand and can relate to, try to talk the same language.
