How do you explain the defeat of the "blacks" ?

I'm french and i was persuated that the "blacks" will atomizate the french team

The french played a better game,i`m sure nz thought they would just walk it but the french proved them wrong.

You could see the absolute fear on the faces or carter and Kelleher when they were replaced. genuine fear of losing, cannot be good!

To be honest you could see this coming, sure they were the best team but i always felt there was a good chance they would fail to deliver

The AB's simply took it for granted that they would win, they were to complacent and it cost them!

This was the first game they were really tested in, they had a virtual easy group and then France!

As for the forward pass, the AB's should have put that game to bed long before that try was scored, if they are as good as they say!!

I would describe it as painful, very painful.

Probably the hardest world cup loss I've had to swallow yet, but at the end of the day the French scored more points. The sun still rose the next day (and the day after) so all is not lost.

undercooked is widely accepted. just like ireland , they got no hardcore rugby game time at all in the build up for the world cup.. i think its a burden playing weak opponents in the first half of tournament. takes your edge of a bit. for the all blacks anyway. thought howlett should have been included

As a New Zealander... I think what happened was that the All Blacks grossly underestimated France and expected to win easily. However, in the 2nd half when France stepped up to the mark they got very scared that they could lose and they cracked. I don't think they were scared from the beginning. But they did have alot of pressure on them, and tehy just couldn't handle it.

You can have all the skill & technique in the world but the only thing that separates you from your opponent is that extra edge...where you fight (compete) like your life depends on it.  The media have referred to it as passion.  It is innate & can never be coached.

Forget the undercooked, underprepared, over pressured...whatever...the kiwis need to find the mongrel in them & stop being so bloody polite!

The All Blacks have been pushing the rules of the game for so long and getting away with it. They believed it was their divine right to play the game "their" way. So when they landed a referee who did not agree with their tactics in terms of the law they had no alternative plan, panic set in and BINGO!

Remember NZ the  Poms invented the game so THEY in fact are the divine custodians of the rules,  the universe etc . Must say though the refs missed call on the forward pass would have devastated me as well.
