How do you explain why you have chosen a hypothesis?

This is my hypothesis:

land use a long a radial transect suggests that swansea fits the burgess urban model

but i can't think of why i chose it.

  1. A hypothesis is an educated guess because it should be based on existing scientific theories or models. I suppose you chose this hypothesis because it is based on a theory, namely 'Burgess Urban Model'.  


  2. You will need to explain a bit of background of what the burgess urban model is and why the radial transect suggests that swansea fits it.  For instance, mention that the city appears to be set up in concentric rings rings of land use categories (thereby fitting the model), but no data exists to show this.  Then test your hypothesis to see if swansea fits the burgess urban model.
