It goes far beyond crazy.  It is FRIGHTENING!

Not only does it give Big Pharma its golden goose, it is a POLICE STATE bill, disguised as a health bill!  Follow the link to the discussion paper below and read the penalty and search and seizure provisions.

This bill is not about making Canadians safer - this bill is about the Security and Prosperity Partnership agenda to create a NORTH AMERICAN UNION.

Why is Canada going first?  Time will tell.  Possibly the reason is to implement the POLICE STATE provisions of that Bill.  Look at the search and seizure powers of that bill, then ask yourself how many "illegal" products you find in your pantry, medicine cabinet, garden and refrigerator?

Read pp 7-8 of the discussion paper.  Specifically, the text under the title "Allowing Trade Agreements to become law without parliamentary Approval …."  That shows how the bill is diminishing Canadian sovereignty.  Note that the term "government" has been expanded to include two clauses:

"…

(e) a government of a foreign state or a subdivision of a foreign state, or

(f) an international organization of states"

That is one of the ways the Security and Prosperity Partnership is effecting North American Union in stealth mode.

This is coming to AMERICA and Mexico.  The only question is "HOW SOON"?

The bill is about securing CORPORATE CONTROL over North America.  That's right, FASCISM!

Is anyone still thinking that North American Union might be a good thing????  

Canadians AND AMERICANS must take action now to stop SPP or join the ranks of the Brits who are now finding out the hard way that the reality of EUROPEAN UNION is not what they thought they were buying into.

And don't expect to hear that in the main stream media.  The Canadian main steam media is controlled by elite corporate interests, as are the American and British media.

It's the first sensible thing the Harper government has proposed.

Herbal treatments are being marketed as health products by the AM community, but they are regulated as food supplements.

They need to be under more stringent regulations, and if they are making health claims need to be able to show efficacy and safety just like pharmaceuticals need to do,.

Welcome to the real world.

My original stance was that this was a move lobbied by Big Pharma to position itself to take out the competition, ie: natural supplements and herbs.

I wasn't impressed, and didn't like how the bill read.  I joined several groups protesting against it, and one group who backed it.  I went into that one group mostly out of spite.

Now, most of the people there, generally have a negative attitude towards natural/alternative therapies/medicines.  So what they were originally hoping was that it was going to wipe  it out all together.  I wasn't for that at all.

However, their enthusiasm dampered when they realized that the bill isn't going to do that.  They seemed to have better analyzed the bill than the protestors have.  They seem to have a better understanding of what is actually written, and can explain it logically.  

They are, very much disappointed that it wasn't going to eliminate Natural Medicine, which they believe it is modern day quackery, but will settle for it to be cleaned up by better regulations.  I will be reviewing the bill again tonight from a new perspective, as now I'm on the fence.

This may not be the evil Big Pharma tyranny I initially thought it to be.  

I'm all for better regulation, providing its done fairly.  From what I understand, its not going to change much except for those who manufacture junk products.  Which is fine, as if its really junk, I don't want it.  I want quality natural products.

I'll post more when I re-evaluate my stance.
