What are your opinions on Mr. Trump's plan to build the world's finest golf course in Aberdeenshire? Do you feel that the potential economic boost and increase in tourism in the area outweighs the destruction of the rare sand dunes and wildlife living there? Do you feel the development should go ahead or not, and why?

  1. He'll fit in well there, in tartan golfing trousers, 'Argyll' sweater and baseball cap.

The Scots apparently invented golf, so they are partly to blame and have brought it upon themselves. They are mostly hoping to get cash out of it, of course, what else would stir their little hearts? Wildlife doesn't pay for taxis, overpriced drinks  and souvenirs. But it's true the rich will fly in, play golf, pretend to appreciate malt whisky served by (probably Polish) waitresses in pretend kilts (mini kilts of course) and fly out again.

More pollution of course.  It's just sad the innocent wild things have to suffer.

I think he - and anyone else who wants to inflict the silly little artificial hillocks, manicured greens and pretentious flags on our beautiful landscape  - should take up residence and hit the little balls around in an area completely free of wildlife and humans - ground zero at Chernobyl perhaps?

  2. Just what we need is another stinkin golf course.

This is a total waste of time and money. Hitting a little white ball around for three hours .What a waste.Don should put his money into something that would benefit the world instead of himself. That's all this is about ,himself. For the small benefit this will bring to the area its not worth it. The wildlife will surely suffer.

  3. The long term damages to the environment are not worth the short term entertainment values of a golf course.

Certainly there are plenty of golf courses, this is about $$ not golf.  If persons there are suffering from economic difficulties, then who will play golf on this expensive course?

Common sense should prevail here.  If they desire tourism, then base it on what they have there naturally.  Certainly many persons from urban places would love to experience a quiet beautiful and unaffected country setting.

    Namaste,

    Edie Britt

  4. It will of course cause conservation damage to the local wildlife, as well as global damage with all those extra flights.

Extra tourism in the area? most unlikely. How much local tourism do you think Disneyland brings into the area? They would go and play their golf, stay in the hotel, and leave.
