How do you feel about a 4-day work week? if Oakland county is thinking about it. Why cant we all do it?

Personally I like it.  The 5x40 workweek was established in the earlier part of the 20th century based on efficiency of workers.  Workers were more productive when you didn't over work them.

Casino's have done this for years.  You can work 4 ten hour shifts and take 3 days off.  It's a great full time shift and time off policy.  Some people feel like they are out of sight and out of the loop.  Not true.  You can make a deep impression in 40 hours.  40 hours will garner you the benifits and income that a 5 x 8hr shift will.  It's a beautiful thing.

I worked 4 10's at a job once. It was really nice.

Unfortunately, many jobs, like my current one, depend on being in the office while the rest of the business world is in the office. That means that huge numbers of businesses would have to switch to 4 10's all at once, which probably will not happen.

Another drawback to everyone doing 4 10's is that your extra day off would suddenly be a day off for everyone which means no short lines to do errands that you would normally do on your weekday off.

I'm not saying 4 10's is a bad idea. I'm just saying that switching the world to 4 10's would be very problematic.

I like it.  

Think how much gas it would save.  There would be 20% less time commuting to and from work.
