How do you feel about domes?

To me...it seems like much more of a man's game to be played on an open field! In cities like St. Louis, Minnesota, Detroit,Dallas, New Orleans, Arizona... etc doesn't it seem like the dome takes away from the game? If nothing else, look at the attendance records of these teams versus teams with an open field. Real fans don't need to be comfortable in a climate controlled setting...they want to see football played in rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind...etc. How do you feel?

  1. i agree.  even Peyton Manning said football was meant to be played outdoors.  teams that play in domes are filled with a bunch of sissies.

  2. I'll sit through the elements to see my steelers but... gimme a chance to see the game in a nice warm cozy stadium...im there why would anyone prefer to be miserable

  3. I actually prefer the new retractable roof domes.  Best of both worlds there.  Home team can choose the conditions to play under.  And the city can use the venue during the winter for other shows, which is important cuz its the city flippin the bill.

  4. i hate them.

  5. I hate domes.  I love watching games in Green Bay (Go Packers) when the temperature is in the negatives and some team from a dome comes and plays, they are not used to that cold, so its fun to watch.

  6. There was a day when I agreed with you as a player.  The game has gotten much faster and complex, and is better experienced, whether player or fan, in a protected environment.  The newer roll-in/roll-out natural grass systems protect against injury, and offer the maximal environment (Phoenix' new stadium).

  7. it dosen't matter.

  8. Completely agree... football is a game meant to be played in the elements. Here's an example... you have two players... one that plays in a dome primarily and the other plays in the elements primarily. They are both great players, but one of them doesn't play as well in the elements as they do in the safety of their dome, but the other player plays just as well outside or inside a dome. Whose better?

  9. I dislike domes too, but you ever been to a game in Minneapolis in December or January? Takes cold to a whole new meaning!
