  1. uh, espreses..

.15% of all hiv infections come from vaginal intercourse.

  2. He made no differentiation between those who contracted AIDS from sexual conduct or inter-vinous drug use. Remember only certain types of sexual behavior spread HIV. To date there is not one case of vaginally transmitted HIV. No one is allowed to be president. Presidents are elected by a majority vote in the Electoral College. We certainly don't want people disqualified to run for the presidency because they hold believes that may offend over sensitive people, or that are unpopular. For myself I never supported Tax hike Mike, if I wanted someone who thinks that stopping global warming is a priority, or shutting down gitmo is a good thing I would support a real democrat, not a wannabe

  3. I said that years ago, why are they allowed in the general population,?????? because we cannot so anything, because of human right's, they all need to be isolated, they did it years ago with leper's, they were considred dirty, and not allowed to be in the general population, oh GOD help us, protect us from the evil's that run our country!!!!!! no one cares about the innocent one's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. What Huckabee said in a campaign for the U.S. Senate some fifteen years ago was that HIV was the first contagion which was not being treated with quarantine. Instead it had become a political issue, not a medical one. That was and is a fact!

I would add to that the fact that HIV was the first venereal or sexually transmitted disease which did not require the afflicted to cooperate with health authorities on sexual contact reporting under penalty of law.

I worked with AIDS patients in the early 1980s when it was still being called g*y Bowel Disease. I handled a lot of STD cases in my 25 years in the Navy Medical Department. There is nothing in Huckabee's statement of fifteen years ago that I would disagree with.

  5. These thoughts were somewhat common common during those early days.  I do question his intelligence somewhat as a potential US president though for thinking this and not being more informed - even then!

  6. He made those comments 15 years ago when a lot less was known about AIDS and HIV. Give the guy a break! He acknowledged that he said it; he admitted that it was a naive rush to judgment.   -RKO-  12/09/07

  7. There comments were made 15 years ago. Have you changed any of your thoughts about serious issues in the last 15 years?.  But he is right about one thing. Aids for the most part is a lifestyle choice. Type One Diabetes, Parkinsons, Alzheimers and cancers are not. SO why is there more money going to aids research than all the others combined, expecially when you look at the facts that the others have caused more death and suffering than AIDS?
