Americans, have no desire to live in a bilingual nation like our neighbors to the north. We have no desire to be prompted on every telephone call and for every bank transaction as to the language we want to use. We have no desire for multilingual ballots. We have no desire to spend more of our taxpayer dollars for translators. Americans want to do business in English. Period. End of story.

And that is a good thing, not only for America, not only for English speakers, but for immigrants as well. It is best for them if they are immersed in the dominant language and culture – not isolated in their own little world. That's what assimilation is all about. All immigrants throughout American history have gone through this process. How do you feel about it all ?

  1. that's right if your here in america, you must learn how to speak the american english language.. and set aside all your cultural beliefs, and leave it to your country of origin, coz its different here..

  2. Ditto!

  3. Darn right ! I don't want my bank in Spanish, my car insurance in French and my traffic ticket in Mandarin etc. If English is good enough for commercial air craft, it's good enough for me.

  4. I agree 100%.

  5. Hallelujah!

I have been saying that for years!

  6. I think not being able to read or speak English could become a safety issue as well; I agree that it should be a requirement to have learned the language to be granted citizenship here.

  7. I concur.

  8. I only imagine what our fore fathers, and Presidents from the past would have to say and actually do about it.

After-all, that is why they wrote the Constitution in English.  Require those who chose to live in the U.S.A. to speak, understand, read, and write the English language.  No multicultural languages were to be provided either through translators, or written on paper to make it easier for them.  Also required, was that they make their allegiance to the U.S.A and NO other country.  NO Dual citizenship for the people of the  U.S.A.  That illegals children born on the soil of the U.S.A, are still the nationality of their parents.  Be they from the U.K, Canada, Australia, Mexico, etc...

And no matter how out dated those policies are...  They are still true today.  But we have the political correct brigade out to force this nation to fold by their whim.  Or have us believe that what they are doing are the policies of this nation.
