  1. if the person is unable to EVER be self supporting and is in a permanent veg. state I think people should turn it off..I used to work in a hospital and yes people can and do survive on life support for years..however, they have no quality of life, and it seems the only reason these people are being kept alive is for the family's own selfishness..life is about quality not quantity

  2. This is something people should make clear to their families, friends & doctors.  Personally, I've made it very clear to all those folks in my life--don't waste one minute, one dime on keeping me alive with life support if I'm brain dead, going to be paralyzed or amputeed , or mentally impaired, should I survive!--I would apply those same conditions when deciding if a loved one were "plugged in"  Sometimes, ya just gotta let go!!

  3. If I'm braindead. shut it off.

  4. i personally think if the person/child is in pain id only think of turning the machine off to ease the pain and for them to stop suffering in this cruel world....its hard to switch off a machine on someone u love and care about but its even harder to watch dem deteriorate in pain dying a slow and painful death.

  5. how do you feel about killing support of innocent people daily basses in Iraq ?

    Are Iraqi's are not human!

what do you feel about WMD?

  6. i'm all for it!! it's a god-send!!!

however, i think the hospitals should do this for free, since life is precious and priceless!!! how can they charge to keep someone alive? it's ridiculous. that's like saying 'only the rich deserve to live.' it's so sad.

  7. My brother in law had lou Gehrig's disease for many years. Machines were keeping him alive. When my sister passed away. His wife. He asked his parents to unplug the machine. For him I felt it was the right decision because it was his choice.

  8. Innocent life? Then who do you think deserves to be killed?

  9. That is why people need to have a living will completed before this situation arises.  That way the family is not left with this difficult decision.  xox

  10. i dont think you should be doing that.

its bad because its putting a price on a life

  11. my mom was put on life support. actually im 16 and i had to make the decision wether or not to take her off. it seems like when a loved one is on life support, the whole family is paralyzed. my father and brother handed the torch to me and i had to make the decision.

i decided to take her off.

she passed away withihn 16 hours.

i feel poeple shouldnt go on it, but its nice to let everyonesay goodbye (i guess)

  12. If the person is officially 'brain dead' they are dead with no chance of recovering, shut ff the machines. Every life is precious but there is no coming back from brain death.

  13. It's an individuals personal choice. I'd hate to be on life support and would want my family to take me off.....if there was NO hope. But if I had a family member on it, I couldn't imagine taking them off.

  14. It depends.

Are you prolonging the suffering just to keep that person alive and with you?  Is there absolutely no hope?

  15. You know. . .I really am not sure.

It depends on the person and their wishes.

It's also like. . .you never know if they're going to actually make it. . .

Not so long ago, somebody I knew was put on life support ad even though EVERYBODY including my mom who is a nurse said she wouldn't make it, she did.

  16. ...its a good thing when the individual no longer desires to live...
