How do you feel about paranormal activity research teams (ghost chasers)?

In example, TV shows like Ghost Hunter and Most Haunted. Do you feel they just upset spirits for their own enjoyment, or do you believe they are trying to help them move on to the otherworld?

I think they're trying to help. I mean, c'mon, if you were to upset a spirit and they know you're laughing, they'll come back and get you. I watch a lot of ghost shows and I think that they all help the spirits move on. Nobody wants to be haunted cause the price could be physical or even lethal.

First you don't have to chase  ghost's....that's there first deception.the ghost that there chasing have been there from a certain time,and most likely have had there fill of being bothered.Haven't you noticed that the ghost hunters have never revealed what really happened to them?they also  bash there employees,and the people who they investigate?Most haunted was  or should I say ,had a  shot at possibly doing some good,but they scream an talk so much that it, ruined any way of hearing anything.Did you notice that Derrick cant be found on the computer anywhere?What really gives ghost hunters any right to say what is real and what isn't in the paranormal realm,or who is or isn't haunted?For one trys to debunk and the other is at least admitting there's is turning into junk for getting caught lying.....their  egos must be enormous....they Say they care about there clients exspecailly children......do I believe they help the spirits or CARE about them ...no! its all about the money now!go ahead write,call,even try to talk to these people ....see how far you get?an yes they make it hard for us real ones...but  they will never be able to understand the real joy of helping someone when they need it for the right  reasons,without all the hoop pla.we will always be here for those who need us.............Blessed be.!

I feel sad that ghosts are not real but the tv shows are fake.

I am a co founder of a small group.  I can honestly say that the group that we have today is there for exploration and to help the property owner to rid the property if that is their wish.  Many people come to you and only want confirmation of what is going on on the property whether it is natural or paranormal.  They don't want to rid the property if there is something there.  Since our services are free of charge, we supply all needed equipment, travel great distances in some cases and are up all night away from our loved ones,subjected to uncomfortable enviornments and etc, we would have to enjoy what we are doing.  And I would say that there is nothing wrong with enjoying what you are doing.

They are for entertainment.  That's all.

In what they are doing them may help the people who own the property if the disturbance abaits, but essentialy it's light entertainment for the masses.  Relatively cheap to make(a), with a fairly broad public appeal (b)

If  (b) divided by (a) is large enough .......make a pilot series.....lol

I think they are TV shows with very little reality.They remind me of professional wrestling when it pretended to be real.I've always wondered why they don't bring extra batteries and turn on the lights.

Sometimes, the shows record some interesting phenomenon.

BUT, for the most part, these shows are an aggrevating waste of time.  They repeat small meaningless tidbits in an attempt to create drama, and show off the biases and inflated egos of the "researchers".  

As a result, the real ghosts are on the other end of the TV transmission, watching the dumb shows.  These are the people who really don't have a life of their own.

There are some amazing paranormal research teams/organizations out there who do very scientific research for the purpose of collecting data.

Most of these organizations are not interested in changing things. They are merely trying to understand it.

Then there are the vast majority who love the shows and are looking for a fun hobby that is not quite so mainstream. And if they get scared out of their wits all the better. These groups drive me crazy. They are usually obnoxious, disrespectful, disorganized and uneducated. They give all the professional honest investigatorss a bad name.

There are precious few who actually try to help the entities and spirits they come across. I wish there were more.

I am on an invesitigative team. I have had an interest in the paranormal since I was a kid. Our association was started long before all these stupid shows. I feel the shows have made real investigators into a joke. Remember reality TV is not all that much reality. I know the entertainment smoke and mirrors bit first hand. The shows are poorly produced the investigators are there for 15 seconds of fame and probably don't have much experience with the paranormal. It is also causing alot of new groups to form, people who have no idea what to do. These people will now put themselves in danger by doing unsafe investigations--private property, going alone, etc. Also, if they don't know what they're doing they'll open themselves up to alot more than they bargained for. These are not real investigating teams, they were put together by producers...kinda like the Spice Girls...look where they are now.

I kinda think these research teams can cometimes use paranormal activity for both entertainment and help. They try to scare and entertain us by saying that they went to the "scariest place on earth" and stuff like that. It can just be used for our personal enjoyment. They sometimes also use these 'ghost hunts' to sometimes help spirits realize t hat they have died and must pass on. We'll really never know unless we guest star on one of these shows.

That is s tricky question. I believe that it is probably a mix. Just like there is probably a mix of genuine ghost chasers and mediums and fakers and hoaxes.

I believe in the para normal, but I don't know if we can make them leave, or if they are good or bad.

I try not to think about it to much, because then I get all freaked out!

I believe they are not partial scientists. They go in with a bias believing that this stuff already exists so they see what they want to see. It is not objective science at all.
