and never using punctuation and not capitalizing the beginning of sentences and running on and on and on making a sentence an entire paragraph long... wht do u think bout tat?

Personally... I find those questions and answers tedious. If they are sitting at a desk with a full keyboard in front of them, why don't they use it?

  1. I think it gives a good measure of the person's intelligence and maturity.

  2. Yeah that irritates me a bit too, I also hate it when people type in caps lock the entire time.

It's natural to make errors though, I do myself, as mostly I'm on here at the end of the day when I'm tired and I can't always be bothered to spend a lot of time proof reading what I type. But I guess as long as it makes sense and flows okay then it's fine.

  3. It looks tacky, stupid and makes a person look uneducated and lazy.

Can you imagine someone using that "short hand" at work or something? On a resume? On a school report? A job application?

Jeez...people have an entire keyboard at their fingertips and 10 fingers (in most cases) to use to push the keys. Also, most of this texting is like trying to read Martian. I should not have to translate a language I already speak.

One final point...questions asked in the "short hand" manner usually don't make any sense and leave the reader questioning the asker's intelligence.

    EMT

  4. i hate texting shorthand when not texting.

even words like lol, lmao, rofl.

some people say it in conversations like 'i went to it lol'

    its not needed.

    good point about the keyboard.

    if its there use it

it sort of like a sign of laziness and boredom.

  5. As long as I can understand the point, the question is interesting, and it's not too tedious....well personally I woudn't care.

I really don't have the patience to be so anal as to read someones question and notice every small little grammatical error and flaw.  Granted yes, some people just go beyond the realm of 'sense' and their shorthand texting and unusual sentence structure will make you go "eh?" But in regards to the ones who aren't blatantly stupid and just rather would like to get their point across and have a few shorthand texts and small errors along the way I honestly don't see the problem.

I'm an intelligent human being, I can READ and decipher what some of the socially accepted 'texting' means; I also can understand some of the errors people would make in they're sentences that could pssibly b from typying way to fast (granted that sentence was done purposely). We're not perfect and for the most part i'm not that ANAL so I focus more on the content of the question rather than just the silly grammatical errors, this isn't college, nor is it anything professional where you get 'kudo's for being grammtically correct.  It's just questions needing answers, and that's what makes it fun.  :-)

Oh yea, sorry about the emoticon...just a habit.

  6. text shorthand if fine as long as you know the person will know what you are talking about

  7. I think they are an eyesore, and take too much energy to read. I ignore any question formatted similarly to "OMG can sum1 plzz help rih NAO lyke is urjnt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?"
