Or really about groups that are not black calling each other n*gga, like "wassup n*gga", or anything of the life. I'm an Arab(who they say looks puerto rican, whatever that means) who lives around black people, and no one has ever had a problem with me saying it, but i just wanted to know the thoughts of some of you.

  1. The Blacks are free to use the word we whites invented to degrade them all they want. It just goes to show how little they've come since the days of their oppression.

Let them use it all they want. I mean, they are what they are.

  2. We have the constitutional right to say any word, no matter who is offended!!!

  3. I look forward to the day when this word is stripped of it's power. It's just a word. It's not a nice word, but there are plenty of 'not nice' words and phrases. People need to quit using this word as an excuse for violence. They need to stop thinking that a race of people can own a word.

I actually love what black kids used to say when someone called them this word. Anybody ever hear "If I'm a N, you're a chigger, bite my butt and make it bigger!" ?  And then that would be the end of it.

  4. I think it's derogatory and shouldn't be used, by blacks or whites

The word ***** as variant of ****** has been used self-referentially by many in the African American community, often as a pronoun to refer to a black man[42]. With the rise in popularity of rap and hip-hop, the term has become more widely used among some black youth and among some non-blacks as well. This revisionist usage, particularly among non-blacks, has been the source of considerable controversy, especially of rapper Fat Joe.

  5. The word was created to dehumanize black people in order to justify slavery....over time black people internalized a lot of the negative stereotypes that were spoon fed to them and began using the word to address one another. Some people use it as a term of endearment and some use it negatively but ultimately it still carries the same connotation it always did....it is a word that reduces us to stereotypes and negative images instead of as human beings. Other races that use the word use it because it is trendy. The black man is one of the most copied men in the world....and you see all types of kids of all races wearing baggy clothes calling each other the n word and hanging posters of Tupac  or bob marley on their walls (even though half the time they can't relate to a word they are saying).....I believe that we should stop using the word but ultimately we have bigger issues to take care of, like education and sexual responsibility as well as improving the standard of life in the poorer areas.

  6. I say get over it. Black call people crackers all the time so join the club. I think if it was so offensive why would black people you call your friends it. It's as simple as that.

  7. Ni66er is a word that describes.

  8. it is a word with a very ugly history; I understand that black people have "reclaimed" the word but for me it is not a word that i want to hear and not one that I would use.

  9. I don't think anyone should say it. Not even black people.

  10. I'm black..and I hate that word. I never use it and it makes me shake my head in shame and anger when I hear others using it.

  11. well if you're not black and u say it around me we Will def. have a problem. but most of the time i just brush it off cuz it's not that big of a deal. the person who says it must be looking to get they tail whooped. but it also depends on if you call me if. then we Will be fighting

  12. I am not black.. but from my observations, a lot of black people have a huge problem with other races saying it, also a lot of people have a problem with even other blacks saying it.  A lot of poeple dont want it said at all.

  13. You shouldn't be saying it, and trust me, you cannot go up to any black man and just say it. Why did you think it was so cool to say it in the first place?

Anyway, I get sick and tired of debating, but since some people still don't get why some blacks can say it to each other and others can't, here's an analogy:

Some women call each other the B-word, Some g**s call each other q***r.

Certain words have a different meaning when coming from an outsider.

another example, if a buddy of yours calls you an idiot, you probably wouldn't mind that coming from your friend, but If I did it (an outsider) most likely you'd take offense to it.

It's not that hard to figure out people, I think most of you have issues with us saying it because you want to be able to call us the n-word so freely.

And yes, it is a term of endearment, Black Americans have been saying it for years, my grandmother even says it. You guys should just deal with the fact that not everyone will understand everyone's culture. I don't understand everything about the Latino or Indian culure, but you don't see me posting a million questions about it. I embrace the fact that people come from various backgrounds...and I realize that we're not supposed to share the same beliefs/customs.

  14. shouldn't be done.

it actually bothers me to no end

  15. Anybody, black or white or other, who uses that word is a lowlife.

  16. I hate it when people use that word

  17. Some people just use that word to get attention. All it is, is a word. People can get over there own sense of pride for once and grow up.

  18. personally...i dont care anymore.

being that you aint black, you're really using it at your own risk, and if i were you i wouldnt make a habit of it because once its becomes part of your speech, it might slip when youre talkin to black people you DONT know and that can cause problems.

its just a word, and there are worse things you can call me. but other people might not see things that way, and they might want to F*ck you up, so i dont think you should use it. Yes, i know its a double standard, but people got a bunch of personal double standards. If your mom punished you unfairly, you think in your head "stupid b*tch"....but if anyone called your mother a stupid b*tch you would knock them the f*ck out. You call your friends names, but if someone outside the circle does then its a problem......well the same principle applies here.

  19. As an African American I don't think it's cute, or a term of endearment  to use the word at all. It was a word that was derived for racist purposes, and I really don't think it's amusing when I hear anyone (regardless of race) say it.

It's tacky, tasteless, ridiculously ignorant, and shows a lack of respect for ones race as a whole. And to tell you the truth, I'm really sick and tired of seeing all the questions being posted, and the serious debates being held in regards to the word itself. I really don't see why anyone would want to fight for the right to lay claims to have the ability to call someone a n!@@er or "my N!@@a's", because I was called that enough growing up, and I felt no sense of belonging when I heard it. There's nothing accepting about the word, because acceptance is not what it was intended to be used for.

Edit: You're right, I really should ignore the questions of such nature when they "pop up", but people such as yourself shouldn't worried with being able to use the word all together.

  20. The word should be dropped from our vocabulary.

  21. sure go ahead, your a sand n#@ga

  22. I think the "N" word is highly inappropriate. Whether a white, hispanic or black person says it, the words meaning is very bad. Its a racist term that's still being used today.

  23. I'm as some people think am a redneck. U would think I would say h**l Yea **** ******* but I'm not like that. It's a word not even a word. It's like blacks calling us honky's we don't care so they shouldn't care if we call them *******, but we use it because they over react. If they didn't care then no one else would..think about it
