Question:

How do you feel about the Book of Joshua?

Do you think that it was all the will of God, or do you think it is a demonstration of how Joshua used the belief in God to maintain order and inspire his troops to kill without mercy?

Did all the people that they killed deserve it, or were they just in the wrong place at the wrong time?

  1. Just Bible myths.

  2. Misinterpreted by Geocentrists. Good book though

  3. JOSHUA DOES WHAT HE IS SUPPOSED TO DO

The land had been given to Abraham by God, at 427 years after the flood [ the flood destroyed all the violence from off the earth, now land grabbing land pirates were disregarding other family members, there was no land to have ], for Abraham's future family. Now the Promised Land is for generation four after Jacob the heir of Isaac who was heir of Abraham.

Abraham who was surrounded by land grabbing land pirates, Gen. 13: 2; Abraham being rich could not buy thousands of acres of land for his future family, Gen.14:1-18; it was already taken and even Lot the relative of Abraham had all taken from him, but he was rescued by Abraham, by the time Moses is dead at 897 years after the flood and Joshua has crossed Jordan with the 603,550 heirs to the land, that have the law to be the law abiding citizens that the world has needed for 2554 years [ now at 1512 before Christ Jesus will be born in Rome world Empire #6, we all know what happened to Jesus, don't we? so how much did world Empires change from bondage in Egypt to the first coming of Christ Jesus? ],

Moses freed the heirs [ they were in the land of Canaan 215 years, then in Egypt 215 years and by the time Moses was born 80 years ago, all the male infants in the family of Abraham was being killed, all know how Moses Acts 7:1-60 was saved from death ].

Now in the land with Joshua [ free from bondage of Egypt world Empire #1 ], Abraham's family are into the 471st year [ Josh.5:6,10,12 ]; after the land was given to Abraham for them by God the owner of the earth, the Canaanites and other family members [ all are of the sons of Noah ], that chose to act like land grabbing land pirates [ are now trespassers ], they have had all this time to move over or comply with the will of God or act like family and share food, water, passage and be like family. None have done this since Abraham and Abraham knowing the true God, he is shoved aside by all but Melchizsdek who knows God also, the heavenly Father and where is his family?

Do we see how humankind in sin is acting upon the face of the earth? now there are two kinds of bad [ BAD ] people, the law breakers and the law enforcers until this day.

  4. Those people deserved it.

said God to Abraham: "But in the fourth generation [your descendants] shall come [to Canaan] again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full." (Gen 15:16)

  5. God gave the Canaanites four hundred and forty years to repent of their evil ways, like burning their children to death in idol worship, bestiality, and necrophilia, and pedophilia, not to mention the terrible diseases they brought on themselves in such acts. Gang rape was the order of the day, and the worst, most vile practices were their way of life.

The Word lets us know that everyone is given many chances to repent before judgement is given. Four hundred and forty years is a LONG time for God to give people into such vile practices. And I haven't even mentioned all of them.

I am afraid they deserved what they got. And even the few children that were left were horribly diseased, and the animals too.

What's more, these were giants. There blood was not pure. It was mixed with devils.

  6. IF it is true, then it is a record of one of the most evil, sustained and vicious crimes against humanity in history. It makes the Shoah look like a picnic. It documents the most ruthless and complete acts of ethnic cleansing and genocide ever undertakenby anyone, anywhere. Hitler, by comparison, was a total amateur.

I find it utterly shocking that it forms partof a book anyone would dare hold up as a moral example. I have more morality in a hair on my toe than in all of Joshua.

  7. God told Joshua to do what he did so the people that were killed deserved it.

My feelings have nothing to do with it.

  8. Those stories are myths.

It was common at the time for national epics to describe great victories in battles, so the Hebrews followed the pattern.

Too bad it conflicts with the otherwise pretty good morals of the bible.
