They finished their investigation of the underage Chinese gymnasts today. After looking at those passports they concluded that there was no proof too the underage claims.

The investigation is now over.

  1. That's so ri-goddamn-diculous. I thought there were other documents that surfaced proving that three of the Chinese "women" were only 14. HOWEVER...if those girls actually are 14, what does 14 look like? what does 30 look like? What does "Heather" or "James" look like? And if those girls are 14, they're ARGUABLY (operative word) better than the US gymnasts who are two or more years older.

  2. It looks like the investigation is still ONGOING, after what I could read. I hope that the evidence from previous, now deleted, web sites is considered in FIG's evaluation.

  3. Tell you what, since you people believe hackers so much, why don't you ask them to send you guys evidences, I am sure they are happy to send the "solid evidence" to you with something extra.

  4. Besides passports, the were presented with other documents that back up the passports. While it's entirely possible that all of those documents are fake, there is no way to prove it. So unless an athlete or Chinese official comes forward and admits to some sort of conspiracy, I say put the matter to rest.

Besides, it's mainly the media that is making this an issue. While some of the coaches have commented about it, it doesn't appear that they are concerned.

The FIG's bigger concern is making their scoring system better.

  5. yes the were better than the U.S. gymnasts

now if the U.S. and most other nations got to use their better younger gymnasts like the Chinese, then it would be more fair.

after all, we all know without that age limit, most nations would have had MUCH better gymnasts like China, I know the U.S. would have.

Younger is better in gymnastics and always has been, you don't "mature" you age.

NOT that I'm saying they were too young, this is speculation.

  6. better than the U.S. no

    better during the olympics yes

let's not forget the U.S were the world champs

  7. Is the same process for every athletes in every international competitions.  Do we need the FIG and IOC to turn all the CIA's and USA's database files upside down, if someone were to alleged on irregularities of American athletes?  Think of the future, 1.4 billion Chinese, and if they get nasty, they are going to do that to the Americans for every competition, and there will be endless chaos.

    So, the matter is closed.
