Do you think it will turn around, or will we have a bad summer 2 years in a row? 2006 was the best summer throughout the 2000's but has it gone downhill from there? Share your verdict!

  1. I think it is absolutely awful and embarrasing!I had't to buy a warm coat today, its JULY and its summer,I don't get the weather in the UK at all,it is so unpredictable,I hope it will turn around and get hot but I doubt its going to happen, before you know its going to be Autumn.Oh well we can always  hope for next year!

  2. I hope the Summer picks up a bit! It's been quite nice here today, I plucked up the courage to bare my legs! It was warm and sunny. Hopefully it continues!

  3. Claire unless the government is 'god' i dont think they can possibly do anything to change global warming! It's 'us' as in the human race needs to change what we are doing to avoid what is happening to the weather now. To be honest where i live (suffolk) there's been quite a few warm/hot days compared to last year so there is an improvement but not like the summers we used to have :O/. So i would that, yes we will have a bad summer but it will be an improvement on last years summer.

  4. i'm quite disapointed to tell you the truth, after last years washout i was expecting blue skys nearly every day !!! not quite, its all to do with global warming which is harming the eatth and making the tempreture go up and down and its the govements role to sort things out !

i'm going on holiday this year in England and i hope it isnt that cold and rainy (touch wood ) lol

    hope this helps

  5. It is so poor that the Government now uses the term "Climate Change" instead of "Global Warming" to extract more tax out of us.

  6. No it won't turn around. We may have SOME sunny days but nothing at all prolonged. the weather will be mainly wet i'm afraid and certainly for the rest of July AND august. That said it has been a very dry year in all and the land needs the rain.

  7. Think we're not going to get much of a Summer here in UK in 08.  The Jet Stream is too far south for it to be of any benefit.  It needs to go north and hover over Scotland somewhere and suck masses of hot air off the Sahara or southern Atlantic - Azores heat will do.

It won't make much difference to sea temperatures, which around Britain are usually quite warm in July/August anyway.  However, the air temps will be less than expected - around the low seventies to mid seventies.  What we hope to get of course are low to mid eighties or maybe more.

Was in Paris couple weeks back and the temp gague outside Notre Dam was reading 36C - that's about 100+ in English - phew!

  9. It won't turn around...

  10. Do we have a summer here in the UK?

  11. i hoped last years weather was a one off....... sadly its just the same this year and its very worrying

  12. 3 words, wet, wet, wet.

  13. i think we will have a bit of sunshine and niceness but a bit of rain and clouds as well

  14. It is horrid xx hannah xx amys sister

  15. Even though I wasn't in the UK for the whole of summer 2006 I agree with you about it being the best so far. This year don't look so great.

  16. I think our climate here in the uk is great. Why does it allways need to be sunny to the majority. What does it matter ,enjoy each sunrise and sunset cos our time here is short and sweet. In England 40 odd years ago i remember cold winters from dec through to end of feb.                Spring   was march to may .June july mid aug summer and hot.Autumn windy warmish .October wet and colder.September is my favourite .Ask the  idiots eating 8 course dinners as they discuss  Earths future G8 ?

  17. bbc sez it's gonna get better as the summer progresses.  the rain is due to low pressure but after it passes the azores high pressure which usually makes the uk summer stable will come and higher than average temps can be expected.  scotland unfortunately will stay wet.
