I seem to being seeing a lot of it today. I usually don't hear it- I thought the term was a bit passe. It makes me think of greased up ugly playgirl models.

Your thoughts?

  1. The first thing that comes into my head when I hear the word stud is Grease, I don’t know why; I don’t even remember the movie. Did they even say stud in Grease? It reminds me of 50’s greasers; the old fashioned “bad boy” rebel without a cause type of guys.

  2. I live on a farm...I feel the word "stud" is a male horse that can breed mares.  I had a Friesian stud (the Zorro horse).  After I realized I wasn't going to sell a single one of his offspring, I had him gelded.

To me "stud" also reprisents a financial commitment.  To have the fencing to hold one, or to pay to have them gelded.

"Stud" also means being a serriously responsible horse owner.

A "stud muffin" is is baked shreaded carrots, apple sauce, oatmeal and bran.  "Studs" love "stud muffins!"

When a guy self proclaims himself a "stud," I always think, "Whoa buddy, not even close!  My stud could c**p anywere and I wouldn't be offended....just your breathing in of oxygen offends me!"

My husband is a "stud" (my own personal one ~wink), and "stud muffins" can be found in the rear of his jeans....no touching! ~grin~

  3. The first thing I think of is construction and using a stud finder, and all the ensuing jokes. That is closely followed by thoughts of a very lucky retired race horse. Applied to men, I think it's cheesy, and it usually conjures up images of a guy who's really, really stuck on himself.

  4. Studs are vital in building your home.

  5. I agree, it sounds cheesy, and a bit sleazy, to me.

  6. I think it's lame! I hardly ever use it, since I think the world is a bit ridiculous.

  7. Hey.... I am a hot older woman and I am called a "cougar"... How I see that depends on my sense of humor at the time.  Some women think of it as a slur or put down.... I don't  happen to agree.... I think it is rather funny.  I think I might have  tee shirt made that says.... Cougar on the prowl!!!

  8. Unless i am in the dog section looking to breed my boxer it is a pretty lame term.

  9. Makes me think of a horse.

  10. I usually think of carpentry when I hear it.

  11. just calls me genuis. stud is overused for me

  15. It is passe. I like to use the line from Grease when Sandy becomes the biker/bad girl. "Tell me about it, Stud."

  16. It sounds funny to me..I just say a guy is cute or hot.

  17. I wish a lady would call me stud!

  18. It reminds me that if a guy has a lot of s*x he's praised, but if a woman does, she's a s**t or w***e.  It's not a term I'd use.
