How do you feel about this credit card?

Question

First PREMIER Bank Gold MasterCard. Is anyone using it currently I just need to get it to pay off a bill and I've decided to use it for gas purchases to pay off quickly each month and in the event of an emergency where I didn't have enough funds for that as well. I've never had a credit card and I'm not crazy about getting one but I will because I need to pay a bill off that I've run out of funds for this month.

Or is there a better one, I'm still building credit so it's fair right now sitting at 627. I'm a college student.

I had First Premier and the interest rate was horrible!  Look around and see if you can't find something with a much lower rate.

Also, another idea might be one of those rewards credit cards.

First Premier is a horrible credit card company.  They will charge you huge fees for the "privelege" of getting their card so you'll start with a balance in excess of over $150 before you even spend a cent.

Look around for offers from better banks such as Bank of America, Capital One, etc.  You could even check with your local bank.  Many of them have credit card offers as well.

Before you decide on a cc read the fine print, most important the interest rate.  Some will come with a low introductory and after a few months charge top interest.  I would join a credit union and get one there.

I had their card.. they charge you a TON of fees just to have it.. then a yearly fee and an absolutely outrageous interest (like 24%).. If you plan to get it to cash advance VERY bad idea.. cash advance interest rate is like 31%. If you have no credit..you will be limited as to being able to get a credit card but read the fine print CAREFULLY.
