States agree to reduce their top driving speed limit to 55-60MPH (this is a state by state issue) and in return, liberals drop their opposition to oil exploration and recovery in ANWR, additional oceanic platforms and other current protected areas to resource management.

Sacrifices need to be made on both ends to work our way out of our own crisis.

  1. No deal.  It doesn't do enought o get off of our dependence on fossil fuels.

  2. Not really a fair trade... I may agree to offshore oil exploration but only if the companies assume 100% responsibility for any spills, etc. no if, ands or buts. They make a mess, they clean it up AND pay for the damage caused to the environment and to the tourism industry that they hurt in states that are affected. Not like the c**p Exxon pulled with the Valdez spill and cheating Alaska out of Billions of dollars that they promised they'd pay.

In addition to lowering the speed limit, the US would have to receive 50% of it's energy from renewable resources such as wind and solar power by 2030 and 80% of it's energy from renewable resources by 2050. If you agreed to these terms, I think I could agree to offshore drilling.

  3. Fine by me. A Deuce and a Half only goes 55 max anyway. But I don't think the libs will agree.
