How do you feel about women being allowed to compete in the Olympics now?

Considering  how  many  women,ladies, girls  are  not  trying  at  all to improve  their life  I  think it  is  wonderful.  More  women  are on drugs  and  in prison then  ever  before.  If  this  trend  continues  the  human race  will be  a  even  bigger  mess then it is  now.    *mamatx

There are still several countries which do not have or allow women to compete at all, and some which do not allow women to compete in a number of events.

It's a shame because those countries are usually the same that could do with improving the lives of the women at home.

Additionally, there are many countries where the available money for sports is limited and so, invariably, the male sports are represented at international events.

These countries are also often unable to field athletes in the Special Olympics for competitiors with disabilities.

For those women coming to the Olympics from countries for the first time, it will be an exciting and enlightening event.

Now? Now, I feel that .. well, I'm ambivalent.

I always question what "equality" means if the Olympics are segregated up into men's and women's events.

Me? I play like a girl, and I always tried to get on the girls' team when in primary school.

            Besides only a commie wouldnt cheer for the US womens team(and mens team too).
