How do you feel reading a news story such as this?

I was chatting to a friend of mine who lives in Edmonton, Canada late last night when she mentioned this new story in passing, wondering if it had broken as news here in Australia yet. Out of curiosity, because I'd heard absolutely nothing about it, I searched the Edmonton Jorunal website this morning and came across several articles related to the story. After reading this story, I was wondering how such an absolutely horrific and blood chilling murder such as this makes you feel. I can not believe anyone would have in it them to commit such an heinous crime and it really makes me worry about what the world will become when people are committing such crimes. My question to each of you is, how does this make you feel? If you are a mother or father of young children, how do you feel knowing that your child is growing up in such a violent society? Additionally, I was curious as to whether any of you could even begin to fathom what must have been running through the murderer's mind at the time as I myself am very curious about this. I propose that the murderer is psychologically unstable, clearly - anyone else hold this view?

Very bad. The culprit seems to have serious psychiatric issues though.

It's likely he'll have to spend the rest of his days in an asylum for the demented.

Honestly, the killer baffles me. Being Canadian, I've heard much of this story, but it's a rare case around. It's absolutely devastating to think about. For some odd reason this guy moved his stuff from the front of the bus, just to sit with this 22 year old. Within half an hour, he was stabbing the guy right out there in full view. I really don't think a sane person can do something like this, but seeing and hearing so many murder stories these days makes me think otherwise.

If you look at updates, the man looked like any old middle-aged Chinese guy. Seeing him just made me shudder because so many people who look regular and stable on the outside are capable of something so bloody.

It feels like this whole thing came out of a horror movie.

When people commit murders like this they are usually on some mind altering drug.
