  1. Some people were born ignorant and will always be so. So, If you hold a door for someone and they pass you by without an acknowledgement, take heart from the fact that you have acted like a gentleman, and that they don't know any manners.

  2. i feel like an *** for sum reason.

  3. Mostly people smile as they walk by and say a quiet "thanks".  The ones who don't are probably rude or cranky--don't take it personally.

  4. PEOPLE SPELLING..........SPELLING............SP...

  5. I understand where you are coming from.lol When I did this for a White person and they didn't speak, I just thought they were racist or something. Then I realized that some people just can't appreciate a kind gesture. The ones that do smile and say thank you are the reason why I continue to do it.

  6. I feel good because I did a nice thing.  If the person doesn't say thank you, so what, I don't do it in order to be thanked.  I do, however, tell those who open doors for me thank you.

  7. I think you mean when do you feel is the right time?  Anytime when you are ahead of a person, keep it open.  On occassion when I am rushing I might say I'm sorry and run off.

  8. Personally I think lots of people have lost kindness.  What happen to saying good morning or hello or like you said Thank you!

I like when people give me a kind gesture and smile or say thank you .  It makes me want to be kinder to people I don't know.

I get kinda bugged when the other people just ignore you completely.  I don't start a big thing it's just something that stays inside.

Why can't we all just can't get along...(that's supposed to be funny  :0)

  9. Some people are jerky and just expect politeness when they aren't polite themselves. I think it's very nice when someone opens a door for me, and I always thank them (and genuinely mean it).

  10. I don't think I feel anything, it's just what you do.  I do know there have been times when I wish someone had opened the door, or held the door open for me when I've had to struggle with some unweildy or bulky or fussy thing.  It's one of those courtesies you extend to others.  I don't expect a thanks or nod of appreciation.  It just makes the day just a wee bit nicer, even though they may not consciously realize it.

  11. I try not to do it, but if a pregnant lady or someone with a  bunch of kids is coming behind me I hold it open.

  12. I FEEL like a doorman and those people that just walk BY without a courtesy should give me a tip. And by tip I mean money.
