  1. fill up the tank, jot down the miles on the odometer, drive for a while (your normal driving routine) and then tank up agin, check the millage, then devide miles by gallens to get the mile per gallen rate

if you went 200 miles between filups 10 gallons of gas, then your geting 20 miles per gallon

  2. The simplest way is to fill the gas tank up, run car until the indicator reaches the empty red line, fill the tank up again. At the first fill up reset the mileage dial to '0' and when the gas gets to '0' again note the mileage and divide the amount of gallons used into the mileage, it will give you an indication of your MPG used.

    Spartawo...

  3. fill you car up

    reset the odometer

    burn tank of gas

    record the miles travelled

fill up and note the amount of gallons required

divide the miles by the gallons you just put in

repeat a couple of times for accurate amount

  4. Well my car actually has a digital meter that tells you how many miles you're getting to the gallon.  Depending on what speed you're going and what not.  So that's what I go by.  If you don't have one just figure out how many gallons you put in your car, and see how far you can go until you car is out of gas, or close to out of gas.  Then try it again a couple times.  Should have a mileage meter in your car.  Next time you fill up (when your tank is almost completely empty) see how many gallons you put it, then see what the mileage is then, and when you're out of gas.  Then just do some dividing and viola.  You'll have to do it a couple times to be sure though, because the results can vary every time.  But say you have 12 gallons in your car, and you drive 240 miles.  All you'd need to do is divide 240 by 12, which would mean you're getting 20MPG.

  5. run the car down exactly to E, like on the line.

    fill it up.

record how many gallons you put in it.

run the car down to E again.

record how many miles you went.

divide the miles by how many gallons you put in the car.

    and bam.

if i went 200 miles on 5 gallons id have 40 mpg
