  1. Add up all the temperature readings and then divide them for the amount of temperatures you have recorded.


  2. you should do it for either the average high or the average low--or both.  Temperature changes throughout the day but there will be a low and a high.  The math works the same either way.

    Take the highs (or lows) from each day and add them all up.  Then divide that number by the number of days you added together.  For example: a certain city has highs of 71, 75, 68, 73, 85, 80, and 76 over a week long period.  Add these numbers up and you get 528.  Divide 528 by the number of days (which is seven) and you get an average daily temperature (high) of 75.4 degrees.  

    You could also do this for the low and present the data side by side.  Or you could find the average high and the average low and then find the average of those two values.  But I wouldn't suggest the latter.  Hope this helps
