Please explain a $2.00 show bet for the Kentucky Derby for each of the top 3 horses.

1- $4.60 show payout

2- $7.00 show payout

3- $5.60 show payout

What would I have won on a $2 show bet?

  1. Whatever the horse paid to show, you get that much back, on a $2.00 bet..If it paid 4.60 as in the first one, you get $4.60 in return, the same with each $2.00 bet..

Edit: These payouts were for the track. If you made the bet outside of the track, in a different state, the payouts will probably be different. You have to go by the payout, of your local OTB..

  2. For a $2 show bet, it depends which runner or runners you had on your ticket(s). As with any wager it depends on the horse you selected for the amount of money you win.
