How do you figure out how much water and oatmeal I will need to reduce the amount of servings?

If you have 4 cups of water and 1 Cup of Oatmeal for 3 servings how much would you need for 2 servings and how do you figure it out?

It would be 1 cup water per 1/4 cup oats. for 2 serving just use 1/2 cup oats with 2 cups water...It isn't exactly what the directions say....but it will give you 2-1 cup servings.

You're dividing your end result by a thiid, so divide your ingredient amounts by a third.

2 2/3 cups waterm + 2/3 cup oatmeal = 2 servings

1 1/3 cup water and 1/3 cup oatmeal per serving. so 2 2/3 cups water and 2/3 cup oatmeal. I divided the water by 3 and the oatmeal by 3, then multiplied each by 2.
