I came through a website that says that the nominal RMS power and not the peak can give you a good indication about the quality of the speaker. After browsing different brands , I noticed that in the same brand therer are speakers that cost 100 dollars more with less Nominal RMS power. after long search i decided to buy http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Speakers/D-Series

those speakers need 60 rms power. Are they good or should i aim for like 80 and above for better sound? i dont get it

  1. The RMS power rating really doesn't give you a good indication of the sound quality. It's only an indication of the amount of power that the speakers can handle.

The pioneer D series speakers are a good choice. They are from a respected brand and they have good quality and craftsmanship. Those speakers will sound good off of an amp or off of the head unit. Anywhere from 10 to 60 watts will do.
