How do you figure out your size in ice skates?

I'm thinking about going back into figure-skating but when I tried on my old ice skates, they were too small! And i've forgotten how to size my feet. I have size 8/9 in women's for normal shoes.

  1. There's no hard and fast rule.  Generally skates are a little smaller than your shoe size, but the real test is to be fitted.  Between brands you can't depend on the sizes running the same. There's really no substitute for trying them on.

Depending on how small your skates are, maybe you could just have them punched out a little? The guy at our rink can stretch them about 1/2 a size.

  2. i am a model but i like to ice skate u should just find ur shoe size and go up one or a half of one make sure if u get hockey skates to go down 2

  3. Visit your pro shop. They should be helpful.

  4. You should go to your pro shop and get measured. It would be a wise choice

  5. You should always know your original shoe size, and when you wanna know what size to wear for ur ice skates, get the one that's one size bigger. Example: if you're size is 6 get 7 as a ice skate shoe size. It is because ice skates are made to be real tight so if you're wearing your regular size it would hurt ur feet. Last time it made mine's hurt.

  6. well, i noticed that the shoe size in converse(chuck taylor) is the same size as my skates...

  7. Go to ur local pro shop and ask to get fitted, i'd call in advance to make an appointment.

  8. well go to an ice rink and have them measure your foot so they can tell you the size you need because some skate brands are different than others

  9. simple...take out the insert from the skate...put ur foot on it so da heel of ur foot lines up wit da heel of da insert...the insert should be about...a cm bigger than ur foot.
