  1. the answer is -2. you take the -3 and multipy it by 1/6. then multiply it by 4 since you can't divide a fraction.

    [-3 x (1/6)] x 4

  2. To divide, you multiply by the reciprocal. The reciprocal of 1/4 is 4/1 or just 4. -3 1/6 x 4 is -12 2/3

  3. -3 1/6= -19/6

    -19/6*4/1= -76/6

  4. lol that's not riddle....ok so first u have to convert negative 3 1/6 to a fraction which would be -19/6 then multiply it by the ----i forgot the word but---- it's 4/1 (basically u just flip the 1/4) and then u get -76/6 then u simplifiy and get -72 4/6   or -72 2/3

    yay me

  5. OK, first you need to convert the -3 &1/6 to -19/6.

Then, find  the lowest common factor that 6 and 4 will both go into.  Can't be less than 4 because that's the lowest number.

12 is the lowest common factor.

then you ask how many times does 6 go into 12?  That's 2 so you multiply 2 by -19 to get -38/12

    and now 4 goes into 12 3 times.  3 times 1 = 3/12

Now to add or subtract just do -38/12 + or - 3/12  so really you would just subtract or add -38 +3 or -38 - 3 to get either -35/12 or -41/12

To multiply, you just do the reciprocal of 1/4 (flip it) which is 4/1 =4 and just multiply 4 X -38/12 =  -152/12

  6. you use reciprocals. first turn 3 and 1/6 into an improper, which to do that you do 3*6 which is 18, plus 1, which is 19, and place it over 6, getting 19/6 then you have 19/6 divided by 1/4. in divison of fractions, for the SECOND fraction you reverse it [which is the reciprocal] for example, 1/4 would be 4/1. so now you have the problem 19/6 divided by 4/1. multiply the numerators which is 19*4 = 76 so the numerator - 76, then you multiply the denominators, which is 6*1= 6, and the denominator is 6, so now you have the answer 76/6, be sure to simplify. which is 38/3. If you'd like change it into a mixed number instead of improper. oh and since a negative and a positive is negative the answers going to be negative.

    now for adding and subtracting:

    say the problem was

    -3 and 1/6 + 1/4.

to add you need the denominators to be the same, so you change the mixed number [-3 and 1/6] to 19/6, and now you have -19/6 - 1/4. now to make the denominators the same. the lcm of them is 12, so oyu make them both 12 by multiplying 6*2 = 12, but whatever you do to the bottom you do to the numerator, and -19*2= -38 so you have -38/12 and if you do the same to the other you do 4*3 = 12 and 1*3 =3 so you have 3/12. Then oyu just solve across. -38/12 - 3/12 = -35/12. [just subtract the numerators] FOR ADDITIION youdo the same exact thing except in the end add instead of subtracting.

    FOR MULTIPLYING

you dont change anything unless its a mixed fraction. if it is you make them both improper, and just multiply acroos, both the numerator and denominator. so for example, 3/4 times 1/2 would be 3/8 because 3*1 = 3 so thats the numerator, and 4*2 - 8 so thats the denominator.

    good luck!

    thanks, hope I helpled [:
