Slide the throat plate OPEN by pulling it toward you.  Inside under the throat plate there is a shallow round cup (the bobbin case), this is where you lay an empty plastic "Touch & Sew" bobbin.  They are clear, round, flat & about the size of a quarter

To the left of the bobbin is a little round circular piece of metal with a red center (perhaps with a bulls eye), press that down with a finger.  Using the top thread that is in the eye of the needle, wrap it about 5 times around the large s***w head that stick out to the left of the needle/foot.  Put the presser foot in the down position, holding the thread down on the throat plate with the foot.

DO NOT CLOSE THE THROAT PLATE UNTIL THE BOBBIN IS WOUND.

Begin winding the bobbin by pressing on the foot peddle just like you would be sewing.....the bobbin will automatically wind.  There are several white lines on the bobin case & they are for 5, 10 & 15 yards of thread wound on the bobbin.  I have better luck if I don't fill it to the fullest line.

Close the throat plate, this will automatically unlock the bobbin wind mode & you are ready to sew to your hearts content.  This WAS my favoreit sewing machine...........wish I still had it.  Good luck
