How do you filter water with malunggay?

after filtering, the water may taste like malunggay. and that's the challenge for us, how do you not make the water taste malunggay-y? thanks.

  1. I like to learn something new every day.  And I must confess, I'd never heard of malunggay.  But after a little reading I find that it is an interesting plant that has some medicinal and nutritional value.

    According this article, mallunggay seeds are being used to treat water:

    The article mentions boiling the water after treatment to kill any organisms.  That might be useful for removing any residual volatile compounds left from the malunggay seeds.  Or you could use charcoal, as Trevor suggests, and use a two stage system where the first is to use malunggay as an "antimicrobial and coagulant" as suggested in the article, followed by filtration with activated charcoal which will remove the particulates and perhaps any residual taste.


  2. I can only suggest tat you pass the filtered water through an activated carbon filter bed which is used to remove many odours and tastes from water.
