if you can *afford* rent but are unemployed people seem to be discriminatory about renting... do you have to pretend to have a job or something?

  1. just get a job ya lazy bum

  2. Yes your right there , people presume your not working you would be unable to pay the required rent.

In my opinion your probably best just saying your self employed , that's stops any other questions like how can you pay without no job or such no.

Good luck though , i hope you find something suitable .

  3. Im self employed and never had a problem renting. They usually just ask me to put down twice the normal security deposit. For example, the last place I stayed at was a security deposit of $800 but I had to put down $1600. I got it all back but I guess it depends on who you are renting from.

  4. I would just tell them what I was doing to create an income sufficient enough to pay the rent.
