How do you find a pool sponsor?

Question

Someone told me that if you want to be a professional pool player, that you should find a sponsor, as they will pay for most of your expenses for tournaments. Are there certain companies that sponsor players every year, are there tournaments where you can win a sponsorship? How would you best go about finding a sponsor? Thanks for any info!

f you want to find a sponsor, usually you have to make a name for yourself first or have high visibility. People will notice you if you're winning tournaments and such. I was lucky that Crown Cues, my sponsor, came and found me. If not, the other way to do it is to "apply", which is really just marketing yourself to a company and saying why they should support you in your tournaments. In this second way, you just need to put together a resume or package and send it out to a bunch of different companies that you think would be interested in sponsoring you. Viking & Hunters are to pretty good size ones  But you will have to prove yourself before you get a real sponsor

Build your rep then just start looking
