Once you are in a district they should help you find schools-assuming you want to do some of your own research-I got these links be googling 'austim florida'

  2. This is done within the public school system. Contact the Autism Society chapter in that area and ask if there is help to get them enrolled. If there are special private programs, the tuition is paid by the public school so you have to start them there. They have to fail regular school before they can be tuitioned out. Horrible, I know, but that's what they do to kids. You will probably be assigned a caseworker by the State of Florida. That person's job is not to help your kid, it is to stick to a budget. Accept all the help they will give, but never take their word for it when they say there is no money for this or that, or that you must sit on a waiting list for anything. Go to a lawyer the minute you hear that. Most lawyers will give you one free consultation where they will reveal to you the magic code - the name and number of the law that guarantees your child a free and appropriate education. Good luck and don't back down!
