How do you find a trusting contractor in my area? if I dont know many people in my town?

one good way to go is to go to a local lumber yard,,not a big chain like home depot or lowes,,,tell the people at the counter what you are looking to do and they will give you some names,,call the people up and get references from them about jobs they have done,,if they dont give you references or tell you thier client list is confidential, go to the next.
