  1. put virus in virus vault and then delete file

  2. If you don't want to download any new programs, you can try an online scanner (I would recommend the Eset Scanner www.eset.com/onlinescan/ ). The only drawback is that this will help you remove any current infections, but won't protect you at all in the future. If you did want to install programs then...

The easiest way to fix it is using Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware (Turn off system restore, Download it, update it, do a full scan, and remove everything it finds).

I would also recommend the following programs to make sure that you don't get infected again in the future:

    Spybot - Search & Destroy

    Avira AntiVir Personal

    Spyware Doctor Starter Edition

  3. Yeah... um I don't know, but there's people that do that stuff for you....

And if it says your memory is low then you might have to many stuff saved on your computer... You should try deleted some of the stuff from your computer or try transferringg information on disks to get rid of it from your computer

  4. Some viruses are untrackable.

    However, I'll give you suggestions.

    1) If you use Internet Explorer, go to

Tools -> internet options -> Delete cookies, Delete files

Whenever you visit a website, your computer will save it onto your drive, and causes to consume a LOT of space. It's essential that you take care of it once in a while.

    2) DO NOT HAVE MORE THAN 1 ANTIVIRUS, 1 SPYWARE/ADWARE, 1 FIREWALL

Having 2 or more of the same type of defense program will slow down your computer like crazy

    3) If you're computer's old, your drive can be burning. aka just getting old.

    4) You mentioned that you downloaded files off the internet.

First of all, don't go downloading all you see. Some of the downloads have tiny viruses and dirty programs. That's the punishment you get for downloading for free online. Some websites do that.

    5) Or you can use systerm restore. Takes your computer back in time.

    6) If you're computer is STILL having problems, have a technitian have a look at it.

    Best of luck to ya!

  5. Scan online with housecall....it's free and will remove any viruses:

    http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/

Then download the following, the reason being that many antivirus programs will NOT remove malicious codecs:

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant...

Download, install, update and select Quick Scan.

Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

    Spybot S&D:

    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...

Download, install, update and Immunize, then click 'Check for problems' then when complete select all and then 'Fix Checked'

You may need more specialist tools, but start with the above first, and if you have any problems then contact me.

  6. It could be malware or it could be an overload of items in your startup. The lag is normally caused by chat clients, P2P software, update managers and all kinds of software loaded during startup, which are used all of the time. If something is idle in your system tray, remove it.

I suggest you do the following:

Go to Start->Run, type msconfig and click OK.

    Click on the Startup tab.

Now go through this list and un-tick all the unnecessary items like updating monitors, redundant stuff in your system tray, etc. If you are not sure about a specific item, un-tick, Apply and reboot your computer. If you are missing anything useful, go back to MsConfig and tick that item again. Repeat this process until you are satisfied.

If it is malware, then I'm afraid MsConfig won't be able to do the job for you, the malware entries will keep coming back. That's why you need to download some anti-virus software and scan your PC. After that you can use a tool like HijackThis to remove items you could not remove with MsConfig. I suggest you follow this guide if you want to remove malware from your PC:
