How do you find out if a local restaurant has been cited for health violations?

  1. Look for their Health score, it will be framed and posted on the wall.  if you cant find it, simply ask them where it is. It is the law for them to either have it diplayed, or have it convenient for customer viewing.  It will tell you what their score was, and it will have check marks next to certian things that they were cited for.  a Perfect score is 100, and they get points off for each violation.  If you can't find it posted, ask the manager to show you their Health score from their last inspection.  It will have Both the one they scored this time around,and the one they scored before. So you can see if they improved, or got worse. :)


  2. Call the Health Department, and ask, "Has the Roadkill Cafe Bar & Grill have any current health violations?"

  3. I think that the display of their health score is more of a local ordinance, and who knows how recent it is?  I would want to know it in advance of showing up for dinner.   In my town, the easiest way is to call the county health department. That way you can also find out their past scores, as well.
