How do you find out if someone has their C.N.A license before you hire them to watch your family

Ask for a copy of the license and verify its authenticity with the state office that issued it

You can go to the web site for the State Board for Nursing and look it up, all you need is their name.  If you can not find it there you can call them.  Here it is the Deparment of Professional and Occupational Licensing, Health Professions, don't know what it is there you can call the State info line and they will be able to help you.

Many states have free websites in which you can verify licenses.  Go under the state.gov and type in licenses.  There is usually a pull-down or link for nursing licenses.  Some states require a fee for the information.
