I'm currently living overseas and i hear a lot of people have been getting recalled. how do i find out if i have been recalled, is there a number i can call or a website? I was discharged in 2004 and have a 4 year non active duty in my contract as an 88N. I don't know any information regarding the reserve unit I'm suppose to be attached to or anything so i wouldn't be able to call anybody, my last station was at FT. Irwin. I'm here and could have been called for all i know and would like to find out a way to see if i was. if anyone can help me out in anyway i would appreciate it. I'm kinda lost on all this

  1. Well, they would have sent notice via the last phone number and mailing address you gave them before you got out of the service.  The only phone calls I got while on inactive reserves was a slew of reserve recruiters calling me on a constant basis, some with very deceiving letters to sway recruitment.

  2. Unless you have been "hiding out", I believe the appropriate authorities would have been contacting you.

  3. I did 2 short stints in the IRR. I recall recieving a letter with info on how to change my address. The 2nd stint they sent me a love note to be "prepared" to deploy as I was being considered for activation due to my rank. One never knows when they might come knocking! As the IRR has done "musters" of 10,000  you could be on the missing list.

You are required to keep them informed of where you are, you are still "in" and subject to the UCMJ.

You can call Army Human Resources. Since your online there should be no trouble finding them.

Whats up with leaving Ft. Irwin??? Needed something better than Barstow....that is one ugly town! I always stopped in Baker. Love the Greek Diner there.

    SSG US Army 73-82

I did a 5 minute check to see how things have changed. In my time the contact was the Control Group in St. Louis, not sure they still use that location.

  4. I am sorry to be so blunt..but YOU dropped the ball on this one. It is YOUR responsibility to maintain contact with the your unit. You are supposed to keep them informed with your contact information.

You can always contact the unit that you are supposed to be attached to. Wasn't you given that information when you left AD? Why didn't you call them then?

The best thing you can do now is contact the nearest military installation/recruiter and see if they will help you gain contact with your unit.

Do you even know what unit you are attached to? That would be the first thing to find out. Then make contact with them.

Good luck...I'm not  trying to put you down, but there is no way to sugar coat my answer. You just have to take some personal responsibility and find it all out.

  5. You need to find out if you have received any letter for recall at your home of record that you left when you got out . Or you could call your mobilization command for your appropriate branch.

  6. You are suppose to keep your address and phone number information current.   Give a call to your last unit and update your information.   Also give the a number of a contact in the USA that can get a hold of you in case you are moving around overseas.

  7. ...You'll know.
