from dallas, texas. and also the cost of a plane ticket from philippines to dallas texas? I'm 18 years old, I haven't done this before and my parents don't really know either..help?

So...finding out the cost of a plane ticket can be as simple as going to a website and entering your info. Any additional research I am about to mention is totally optional, but could save you a lot of money.

The cost of a plane ticket to Australia from DFW will differ from website to website. Right now, the cheapest flights (on a trusted airline) are on Expedia.com but, last year at this time, they were on Cheaptickets.com (which, incidentally, is one of the more expensive choices right now.)

- First things first, choose a departure and a return date.

-Determine whether your travel dates are flexible or not. You can often save some money if you're willing to leave a day or two earlier or later than you'd originally planned.

- Decide whether you'd like to fly economy (coach), business, or first class.

Every website you visit will need you to fill out this information on each visit.

On average, a good *CHEAP* round-trip economy ticket from DFW to SYD or BNE (Sydney or Brisbane, the only international airports in AU) are around $1700 if you're leaving within the next month or so. If you're paying more, you shouldn't be. Best sites right now are Orbitz and Expedia. There is an Air Pacific ticket for like, $1100 but you have a layover in Fiji and the airline as a whole has really poor reviews.

The cheapest time of year to fly is from June through the end of August when it's winter in Australia and they're less attractive to tourists.

I'm admittedly less suave in the areas of Philippines to DFW. You can use the same website search techniques I mentioned earlier, only replace your search with MNL to DFW. (Manila to Dallas Fort Worth) There are no direct flights from DFW to Sydney or Manila. You may be able to save some money by booking roundtrip from LAX (los angeles) to your international destination and then fly southwest airlines from DFW to LAX because they have a lot of $99 fare sales between the two cities.
