  1. Ha Ha sorry man but the clerk makes the times you have little hope of that working good luck tho

  2. The Clerk of the Court will schedule your court appearance, then the officer will be notified to appear on that day.

    Nice try!!

  3. The court clerk schedules your trial, not you. You may want to rethink your strategy.

Most the officers around here look forward to court on their day off, it is easy overtime. I only spend about 10 minutes testifying to a traffic offense, and get paid a minimum of two hours.

  4. In my jurisdiction, here in  Canada, the officers know their court dates, as they are beginning each shift, so any tickets written that day , by that officer, will all go to traffic court on that specific date, usually 30 days ahead.

So all the  traffic offenders that that particular officer "wrote up "on that day, are going to court on the same day, at the same court..

Those  that are   placed under arrest, for a criminal offence,   and who are bailed out, will go to criminal court on the same day, usually in a week.

So it is obvious that court dates are known  in advance, and any officer that doesn't "show up " will be in  trouble with his Sgt, and liable to a fine and further discipline, for poor performance of his duties.

Cops have to answer to their boss, too.

    Jim B. Toronto.

  5. I usually follow him around for a couple days. Or you can check the local court docket

  6. I am continually amazed at people on YA who THINK they have the opportunity to get their case dismissed because the officer doesn't show.

It won't happen, PeeWee.... it's part of our job and except in extenuating circumstances, we'll be there. Most departments will discipline officers who don't show for court.

In 30+ years, I've never missed a court date.

Accept responsibility for your own actions.

  7. Maybe you can call in the his department, and ask:

"yes, i'd like to schedule some time to sit down and speak with Officer <expletive>, what days might he be available during such and such week. ... Hmmm, i'll have to get back with ya".

It's a long shot but its all i got

  8. That's dishonest and unconstitutional.

  9. you can only reschedule for the officers appointed day if it were that easy don't you think everyone would try that

  10. Don't try to avoid a court go anyways, from what I hear they usually don't show up.

  11. When they are working day work for most cases, unless they have a lock up, then they have to appear the next morning, whether they are working or not.

  12. LMAO at "The Working Man" Ok, what you need to do is ask for a trial by jury. NOT trial by judge. If you ask for trial by judge then they will schedule the date around the officers schedule, if you ask for trial by jury then you have a better chance of the trial being set on a day that the officer is working and cannot attend. LOL I'm still laughing at The Working Man's response LOL!
