OK, so I haven't voted in a log time. Sue me! How do I find out which party I'm affiliated with to vote in the primary?

  1. Go here: http://www.declareyourself.com/index.php...

Look up your state's election website according to the state you live in. Find the telephone number for your county's election official. Call them and give them your info and they will tell you what your party is (if you have one), where you can go to vote, if you are indeed registered in your county, etc. I did this myself a few weeks ago.

Don't know what state you are in but here in CA, if you wanted to change your party affiliation you would have to re-register 15 days before the election. Otherwise you have a few options. You can either can vote for someone in the party you are signed up with now, or request a non-partisan ballot and not vote for a candidate, or request a Democratic or American Independent ballot. These are the only two that are "open" in CA. This means that even if you are a decline to state voter, you can still request to vote in the democrat or american independent ballot by just requesting that ballot at the voting place.

  2. Re-register to vote. No worries.
