How do you find out your friend code in pokemon diamond?

You have to get online at least once. Then there's a key item (I don't know the name) that shows you your friend roster and friend code.

Look under Key Items in the bag and pal pad.

Go downstairs in a Pokemon Center, any one. Click on the middle lady, and she will give you a Pal Pad. Get connected to Wi-Fi, and then go to Key Items in your bag, and click Pal Pad, and open it. Then, click My Code, and you should see your code.
