  1. The "how" is totally a function of how far back you want to go. With each generation and each new additional branch it gets tougher. There are many books and classes on the topic. Once you start doing it it's hard to stop Good luck.

  2. Every nation that had had sailors with the balls, skills and time to venture out on blue water has passed through the Philippines. Some stopped, some stayed. There is a reason they call it "The Crossroads of the Pacific". Magellan was the first European, but Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Mongolians, Indians and Indonesians were passing by before the birth of Christ.

There is a real good chance you have 3 - 47 different nations in your genetic heritage. Tracing them down is the tough part. It would be like taking a 12-unit class in addition to your regular studies to do so. Just tell people that ask that you are a Filipino with a proud maritime heritage.

  3. look in uranus.

  4. Well, I'm 100% American, but my ancestors came from other countries (England, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, to name a few) as immigrants.

Since there is a Spanish history in the Philippines, you could very easily be of Spanish descent.

  5. begin with listing you, your parents, grandparents and their dates/places of birth.  Keep going back as far as you can, this is a very long process, be patient.  Utilize the many sources online such as ancestry.com, familysearch.org, rootsweb.com.  Good luck
