  1. Multiply the tops together, then multiply the bottoms together.

    So, 1 x 5 and 4 x 6.  You come up with 5/24 which doesn't simplify any further because 5 is a prime number does not go into 24.

  2. Three Words

    Lowest common Demoninator

  3. 1/4 x 5/6

    1 x 5 = 5

    4 x 6 = 24

    answer = 5/24

  4. Multiply the numerators (the top number) and multiply the denominators (the bottom number)  You will then have a new fraction that only needs reduced if it can be.

    1x5=5

    4x6=24

    Answer: 5/24 which cannot be reduced so that's as far as it goes.

  5. 1x5= 5

    4x6=24  answer 5/24

    u place it up and down like above  then u start to multiply it (1x5=5

      4x6=24)

    All you have to do is multiply it. denominator x denominater

                                                          numerator    x  numerator

    Sry if I say ur stupid(didnt mean to), im only 7(6th grade tho)

  6. multiply the 1 and 5 and u get 5

    mult 4 and 6 and u get 24

    5/24 is its simplest form

    hope that helps

  7. convert into decimals or a percentage e.g 1/4 = o.25 or 25 but dont forget when you convert 1 u have to convert the other.

  8. all u have to do is multiply numerator x numerator then denominator x denominator that is 1 x 5, and 4x6 which is 5/24 i hope i helped!

  10. multiply the 1 and 5 and u get 5

    mult 4 and 6 and u get 24

    5/24 is its simplest form

    or

    Develop a COMMON DENOMINATOR for both fractions.

    1/4=?/6

    (multiply the two denominators)= 24

    SO, 4->24 how many times? 6 times*1= 6/24

    Now. lets divide the 5/6 into ?/24

    (Again) 6->24 how many times? 4

    This times the numerator (in this case it is 5) so 4*5=20

    5/6=20/24

    Bringing the earlier fraction over

    6/24 *20/24

    A-HA! - We have a common denominator! - WE CAN MULTIPLY NOW!!!

    6*20=120

    Now we have 120/24

    Whoops! - Lets make this improper fraction into a MIXED NUMBER.

    Since we know that both are evenly divisible by 24 (AH-HA!) let's divide both by the 24

    We end up with 5/1

    ...Which ends up as a whole number of 5

  11. Develop a COMMON DENOMINATOR for both fractions.

    1/4=?/6

    (multiply the two denominators)= 24

    SO, 4->24 how many times? 6 times*1= 6/24

    Now. lets divide the 5/6 into ?/24

    (Again) 6->24 how many times? 4

    This times the numerator (in this case it is 5) so 4*5=20

    5/6=20/24

    Bringing the earlier fraction over

    6/24 *20/24

    A-HA!  - We have a common denominator!  -  WE CAN MULTIPLY NOW!!!

    6*20=120

    Now we have 120/24

    Whoops!  -  Lets make this improper fraction into a MIXED NUMBER.

    Since we know that both are evenly divisible by 24 (AH-HA!) let's divide both by the 24

    We end up with 5/1

    ...Which ends up as a whole number of 5
