How do you find the density of fluids. ?

I have an assignment for a chem class. We have to do a lab write up on how to determine the density of 3 liquids.

-water

-diet coke

-and coke

I have the following materials to work with...

-100 mL graduated cylinder

-balance

-20 mL of each liquid

Can you please help me on how to go about this.

  1. density = mass / volume

    1) weigh each liquids in their containers

    2) empty liquids and weigh the empty containers

    3) subtract weight of containers from total weight of liquids + container (you may want to open the cokes to release the pressure from the canning)

    4) then use the formula d = m/v
